Notes from the Roads of Ladakh

After years of planning, we finally got an opportunity to travel to Ladakh. It is one of the most
enchanting places in the world. The ice covered mountain ranges and turquoise water bodies
were truly a blessing. I had previously heard that the people of Ladakh were said to be the most
simple and cheerful in nature, and turns out it is true. Throughout our magical journey, we
visited Leh, Pangong Lake and Nubra Valley. The car rides from one place to another were the
most exciting parts of this tour. Though the road and terrain from Leh to Pangong is pretty
rough, it is undoubtedly very thrilling and really worth it. This blue, heaven like lake, is one of
the most mesmerising sights people from all around the world come to witness.

Despite the weather conditions, there were road workers trying their best to fix those rough
paths. Our hearts broke looking at people of various age groups struggling to do their job. So, we
decided to stop and hand them a bottle of water and some snacks that we had with us. It was
honestly the best we could do at that time. That very moment, it struck to me that there are so
many people that work so hard yet are not able to lead a comfortable, happy life.
Looking at all those people made me want to help out many such people out there. I want to give
back to the society as much as I can.

At the beginning I just wanted to go to a place like Ladakh, to enjoy the nature and get away
from all the stress, but at that moment I felt like this decision of going to Ladakh really did help
in making me a better person as I could see the different types of people and what they go
through.
